Applied computer science with the focus on "information and business management" which is the full name of the course of studies was introduced by Professor Dr. Weikum.

The course of studies belonged to the computer science department and included the following lectures:

Foundation course:

• Software internship

• Proseminar

Next to this the business management courses.

Main course: 

• 4 main lectures
• 2 special lectures

• Diploma thesis 

Again attended by business management courses under which you had the relatively free choice now. I wrote my diploma thesis at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence at the department of Professor Dr. Siekmann and at the Institute for Information Systems (formerly Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. August-Wilhelm Scheer) at the department of Professor Dr. Loos.

Angewandte Informatik mit Schwerpunkt "Information and Business Management" wie der volle Name des Studiengang war, wurde von Professor Dr. Weikum eingeführt.

Der Studiengang gehörte zur Informatik und beinhaltete folgende Vorlesungen:

Grundstudium

• Programmierung
• Informationssysteme
• Automaten, Berechenbarkeit und Komplexität
• Softwaretechnik
• Softwarepraktikum
• 2 Mathescheine 

Daneben gabe es noch ein Proseminar und die Vorlesungen aus der Betriebswirtschaftslehre.

Hauptstudium

• Diplomarbeit

Wiederum begleitet von Vorlesungen aus der Betriebswirschaftslehre, die dieses mal relativ frei wählbar waren.

Meine Diplomarbeit habe ich am Deutschen Forschungsinstitut für künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) bei Professor Dr. Siekmann und am Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik (IWi im DFKI) (ehemals Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. August-Wilhelm Scheer) bei Professor Dr. Loos geschrieben. Das Thema lautete "Design, Implementierung und Analyse von Verhandlungsstrategien und Koordinationsmechanismen für Geschäftsagenten in Wertschöpfungsnetzwerken" und liegt im Grenzbereich Informatik, künstliche Intelligenz und Betriebswirtschaftslehre.
